Baseball 101: Luncheon for the Ladies

On May 9, 2006, I'm taking the day off work to drive all by myself to Cincinnati to attend Baseball 101: Luncheon for the Ladies. It sounds like an all-male revue, but it's probably going to be more like a quilting bee.

Last year's events featured:Marty gets all the chicks.

  • Jason and Heather LaRue
  • Ryan and Erin Wagner
  • Aaron and Jen Harang
  • Dave and Andrea Miley
  • Tom and Susan Hume
  • Rich and Raquel Aurilia
  • Todd and Nikki Coffey
  • Jason and Joy Standridge

Could be pretty awesome. Could be pretty lame. But, seeing as I apparently have no place in the dugout, I've got to take advantage of any women-only opportunities that exist.

If anyone out there in reader-land is planning to go, drop me a line so I can be on the lookout for you.

I have been reading here for so long that I can’t believe this is my first comment!
I’ll be at the luncheon with my mother, and hopefully a good friend of mine… I hope to be able to talk with you while I’m there!
As I said over at my own blog, the only thing I’m skeptical about is the fact that it’s “Baseball 101” – I think we’re probably capable of hosting this thing ourselves.

Hey now… baseball is a complex science and no one knows everything. I don’t think they will dumb things down for you ladies if you show that you are knowledgable of the game. Enjoy!

Skeeter, please tell me that you have a brother named Scooter. As long as it isn’t the animated ball on Fox Sports.

Welcome! It’s a pleasure to have your first comment after all this time. I briefly checked out your blog. I apologize that it’s MLBlogs, but the content looks pretty good anyway. I look forward to a more thorough review in the near future.

We’ll definitely have to hook up at the baseball 101. I’ve got about 1400 matchbooks to get rid of.

So, are there going to be lots of chicks at this thing? I’ve got some single friends that would really dig meeting some baseball loving filles. RHM, can you hook us up with some phone numbers if there are any hotties there?

  5. Red Hot Mama says:

Would these “friends” happen to have the initials JL, Joel?

  6. smartelf says:

Look at Brennaman in that picture… I think he is the one that’s patroling for chicks!

  7. Joel says:

    Marty’s game is ALWAYS on.

And RHM, don’t you worry about who my friends are, just worry about getting some digits.

Oh, believe me, I would never dare suggest that I know everything about baseball, just that my Baseball educational level goes far beyond 101… let’s say Post-Graduate. 😉

Scooter? No, I would disown that little Antichrist if it was a member of my family. Skeeter’s just one of those nicknames I got stuck with and then foolishly perpetuated by using it as a username on websites.
