Cards are Going Down
I'm going to miss the game tonight, at least the beginning, but after that down-in-the-dumps entry I just posted, I thought I'd better put up a little bravada for anyone who comes here looking for some smack.
You Cards fans better watch out. Rich Aurilia is at second base tonight, and that can only mean trouble.
Nuts! I’m only going to be around for the first couple innings!!
Ooooh, catcher drops the ball. Shame.
Marquis sucks.
But we’ll have proper smack talk tomorrow, right?
I’m home, and just in time to see Freel making one of the top ten catches of the season. He’s so freaking awesome.
I’d say that was probably one of the top two catches of the season. I love Freel so damn much.
Oh crap. Getting caught off first is going to get Eddie benched for a month.
That was so totally a balk. Boo.
Hi, Geki. I know. He’s like a superhero. And so many people love him. Even the old women at Baseball 101 loved him the best.
It’s a tragedy that he didn’t get his proper level of appreciation when he was with Toronto or when Boone was around. But I’m glad he’s getting it now.
It’s time again to vote for the Comeback Player of the Year Award. Griffey won last year, but I think that Milton should take it this time around. Not that he’s been so awesome this year, but he was so awful last year that I think that no one else could possibly match his net improvement.
You can see Lancaster in the background of Wayne Krivsky’s quote of the game.
Looking good, Marc!
Go Dunn! It’s great when he doesn’t insist on waiting until deep in the count if the first pitch is a good one.
What I’m really missing tonight is The Proxy lusting after Freel. He put on a show tonight.
The best part of Freel having a big night is when Jim Day interviews him after the game and I get to count the number of times he says “you know.”
39 tonight. It *was* a hell of a game.
I think Freel stole that from Kearnsy. He used to be the king of the “y’know” during interviews.
I’m glad that the Kearns tradition lives on.
