RE: Leaving Franklin Out to Pitch the Ninth

Dammit, Jerry, you can't start planning who's going to pitch in the tenth inning until you get through the ninth. Extra innings don't matter a lick if you don't last through regulation.

Is there a Reds fan left who doesn’t think Narron is terrible?

  2. Daedalus says:

No, Geki, I don’t believe there is.

Me. I don’t think he’s terrible. Just strategically challenged. There are others parts to managing, though.

Jerry is bad at the following:
    Handling a bullpen
    Handling a rotation
    Building a lineup
    Pinch-hitting in the correct situations
    Pinch-hitting with the correct players
    Making defensive replacements
    Double switching
    Talking

Jerry is good at the following:
    Being a terrible manager
    Sounding ridiculous whenever he speaks

You forgot “doing the little things,” Geki. You’ve got to give him the little things.

  6. Geki says:

And he does have that veteran manager presence…
