What a Trip

We just got out of this afternoon's Reds' game. While the total number of errors by the Reds was far superior to last night, the company of yesterday's game simply can't be beat. We've got lots of pictures and I'll post an exhaustive report once we get home. For the moment, I'm in the restaurant of the Millennium Hotel taking advantage of the Wi-Fi and waiting on my Ahi tuna melt.

The Crack Technical Staff and I had an absolutely fantastic time with the blogger community here on this Blogger Day 2006. Everyone was really nice and way more normal that you'd expect and not a single one of them said, “I thought you'd be hotter,” so I especially appreciate that.

I've still got a few hours to kill in the Cincinnati area. Tonight at 9 p.m. I'm scheduled to tape an appearance on Ken Broo's sports talk show. I'm not from the Cincinnati area, so I'm not sure when the show even airs. I hope Mr. Broo will be able to tell me. In the meantime, here's my request to the reading community to get the appearance on tape for me. Certainly there's something in it for you. I'm not sure what, but we'll work something out.

Go Reds!

Broo comes on 1130 after the local news tonight. I’ll throw a tape in the old vcr downstairs, and Ill program the TiVo upstairs. Be sure to mention “laptop guy”….

I just heard that the Cincinnati Police are looking for an unknown person known only as laptop guy. Something about a bathroom, Cubs fans, and a teal blue man church group.

Do not under any circumstances mention laptop guy. I need to stamp out this fragment of lies before it grows to mythic proportions :). Mention the mass amount of beef they put on the Nachos at the Machine Room.

“Way more normal” Oddly enough, nobody arrived carrying a bucket of fried chicken, which is what I expected. You and the Crack Technical Staff were fun , easygoing people. How could I have expected any less?

I’m sorry I missed it. Someday I’ll get a chance to hang out with you guys.

’twas a highly enjoyable evening. Somehow we managed to converse without either you or I disappointing the other. At least, I don’t think I disappointed you, but then, who knows? Anyway, good luck with Broo. Ask him if that’s his real name. If he says yes then tell him that must have sucked growing up. If he says no, then tell him that it’s a pretty lame fake name and see if you can convince him to change it to “Adam from Milwaukee.”

you (or someone else out there) should put your appearance on youtube.com. i think many of us would be interested in how you did.

    Good morning, everyone!

Anyone who tried to catch the segment on Sports Rock last night will have noticed that it didn’t air. With all the Bengels madness, I got bumped. He said it’s likely to air weekend after next.

But we did record the segment. I was afraid he might pull an Arroyo and leave me sitting outside Channel 5 all night, but he’s way cooler than that. He even discussed podcasting software at some length with the Crack Technical Staff.

He also said that he’d e-mail me the video clip, so getting it on tape isn’t an absolute necessity. Still, I can come through with a Reds bumper sticker and an increasingly outdated copy of [em]Funnyball[/em] for a dedicated fan who stays up to tape it for me.

More on this later; now I have to go back to sleep. Thanks for the comments everyone. XOXO
