A Little Sugar
By Amanda
I want to put up a post, but I also want to go watch The Office, so I'm going with the quick and easy. It's Kinsey Rose performing “Daddy's Glove” at Redsfest last month. Tomorrow, I'll try to get back to being bitter, but tonight, we've got something super-sweet for you. Awwwww.

That is sweet.
The Reds sure seem to inspire a lot of music.
The Braves got Craig Wilson “only” $2 million. Man, that’s a pretty big pay cut.
He cost the same as Jeff Conine…

Ugh. I sure hope Conine has a better year than Wilson. I don’t see it happening, though. Wilson is a better, and younger, player. We’ll see at the end of the year, but I’m confident Krivsky made the wrong decision. Again.
Oh, and in reference to the video, it is nice. However, I’m surprised I beat Geki to the punch on this. It seems like something he’d say.

That was a very funny The Office.
“It’s very UNFUNNY!!!” BAM!

Maybe Krivsky didn’t think he could get Wilson for that cheap. Before his unfortunate stint with the Yankees, people were expecting him to earn around $5 million a year after he became a free agent. Instead, he’s getting less than the Pirates paid him. The notoriously cheap Pirates. And just because the Braves got him for $2 million doesn’t mean any team could have.
Still…I have a feeling Wilson is going to prove to be a bargain. Conine is supposed to have a good glove. Wilson is definitely not a great defensive player. But he’s 10 years younger than Conine. How many players are still great on D at age 40?

Line I’m most likely to use in my own office:
“Hey, I’m the victim here. He’s fishing for [em]me[/em]!”
As for Krivsky signing Conine over Wilson to save money, I don’t think that idea holds water. The ownership has repeatedly pledged money to build a good team, and it doesn’t appear that Kriv-dawg is saving up for anyone.
Alas, I suspect he really thinks that Conine was the better option, and that is the problem.

Did you have a good “gay-cation”?

I might as well just ride in on a burro.

I don’t want somebody sucking up to me because they think I’m going to help their career. I want them sucking up to me because they genuinely love me.

The Blue Jays claimed Ray Olmedo off waivers.
Alas, I suspect he really thinks that Conine was the better option, and that is the problem.
Very true.
Getting a person with good defensive skills to platoon at first base with Hatteberg doesn’t make any sense. You need someone with good power who hits well against left-handed pitching.
Conine hits righties better.
Anyway, I wanted Wilson. I like him and think the Pirates gave him a raw deal. Hopefully he does well in Atlanta.
P.S. The Office rocks. How geeky does it make me that I’ve attempted to record myself singing four-part harmony on a song?

I have to change my voice mail after last weeks’ episode with the microsof text to speech jokes…

I dunno…seems like as recently as a week or two ago, the media was reporting that Krivsky was “monitoring” the Craig Wilson situation. Which suggested he wanted him, but was waiting for the price to drop. He sure didn’t sound very enthused about Conine when he signed him.
I fear the Yankees really ruined Wilson’s market value. They really didn’t give him a fair shot, but people who don’t watch the games just read the stats and think he was exposed by the bright lights of Broadway.
