Then he got hurt, which opened the door for John Rocker to take the job. I read somewhere this morning that he was closing in the minors and had something like 18 saves last year. This just shows how desperate the team is for somebody to step up and take the job, at least until Everyday Eddie is ready to return. Most likely, Ligtenberg will insure that the Louisville Bats will have a decent closer this year. But I won't complain if he has a season-long flashback to 1998 form.
