RHM is trying to get away without a game thread, but I’m not going to let her !

  2. Redsfan68 says:

Junior just makes a heck of a play to rob the Astros of a home run !

  3. Redsfan68 says:

Phillips with a home run just over the centerfield fence. !

  4. Redsfan68 says:

Chad Moeller has been DFA’d. Reds have called up Norris Hopper.
Perhaps Bubba needs to try to bat right handed…..

Hi, Redsfan68! What would I do without you??

A car flipped over on I69, closing it until about…now. It might be opening up soon. So rather than suffer in traffic, we went out for dinner before heading home. Hence my lateness.

It might be an improvement if he tries batting righty. He’s in a pretty bad slump at the moment. 😛

But I doubt Bubba would be called up no matter how he was hitting. Not right now, anyway. I suspect they wanted not only a righty, but someone with options. You know, so they could send him down if they need a third catcher after all.

Poor Bubba. I hope he can pull it together; I’d love to see him with the team. He might want to try his hand at catcher; they’re already having trouble getting all the outfielders in.

  8. Red Hot Mama says:

Hamilton with another homer. Dang that guy is unreal.

And we’re back! Just a brief 20 minute hiatus from connectivity.

I HATE downtime, and there’s been SO much of it lately. I don’t know what’s the deal with Dreamhost, but it’s like every time I change hosts, they start going down. Maybe I’m bad luck.

This time, though, the break gave me a chance to pack 1 box with photo albums. One down, about a zillion to go! Though not all with photo albums.

Lost you there for a while.
2-1 after 6. Victor Santos out to start the 7th

Hey, I’m back again! Man, it’s almost bedtime…

Well this time Cormier was the one to give up the homer.
I’m done with Coffey too. I’m drinking tea from now on.

Bubba had a pretty good night. He was not in the starting lineup, but CFer Dewayne Wise was ejected in the 6th inning. They had to drag him away from the home plate umpire. Bubba took over CF, made some very nice catches, and was 1 for 1 at the plate. Hit a single to CF, scoring Votto (who has also been in a slump).

I wonder if they might consider calling up Salmon? He’s been pretty good. Got another save tonight.

Oops. Missed the game. Lay down around 4 PM to take a short nap, ended up sleeping until 10:40 PM when a friend of mine called wanting to go out for coffee. Since it was too late to catch Coffey by then I opted for coffee. Probably just as well since the ‘Strohs slapped a five spot on him and Cormier anyway. Sorry. Will try very hard to do better with Thursday’s game.

I see that redsfan68 has already commented on the fact that the three-headed catcher situation is no more, with the Reds activating Norris Hopper from the DL and designating Chad Moeller for assignment.

Ryan Freel is the emergency catcher if things get ugly. His next appearance at catcher will be the first of his career.

Let’s see how long it takes Narron to downgrade Coffey. He’s been beaming batters and generally looking wild as hell everytime he gets the call. I wouldn’t stick him in a close game till he convinces me he can handle it. Right now Stanton looks like the most reliable guy in the bullpen.
