I tried explaining to her that Dusty wants his own people and she decided that, "Dusty is a pile of poop." (Perfect 8 year-old language I must say!) Tom Hume has given many years to this organization...he deserves something better than this. They could have at least offered him a position somewhere else in the organization... I told my 8 year-old step-daughter about Tom being let go (mind you she loves Mr. Hume because he always gives her baseballs out here in SF) and she was very upset. He probaly does not want to yank out from under them all the people they feel like they can trust. You feel better and do better when you feel like you are trusted and can trust someone. Berry should have been given boot before Tom...I can't even remember how many games the Reds lost because Berry sent them home when he shouldn't have... I would think the pitching coach would have more to do with the bullpen's performance than Hume. Of course, I don't think Dick Pole is getting fired any time soon. Not until Dusty is anyway.
