which doesn't make sense to me. All I can figure is he meant the off game TOMORROW (not yesterday) and that he'll make it FOUR days off in a row (not two).

Indeed. My mother-in-law came over to drop off my son after his weekly overnight visit, and before I know it the Phillies are already up by 2.

It would be great if the Reds could solve their problems with their farm system. I’m not crazy about the idea of another trade, since I’m not seeing much that the Reds have an excess of.

Not just that, he’s looked so good so far this season. He may just be having a bad outing.
On the other hand, maybe it’s an organizational strategy. The starting pitching has been decent and the offense has failed to come through. Maybe they think if they tell Belisle to be bad, the offense will step up. :hehe:

So, late last night we were driving home late and I was falling asleep in the passenger seat when Jonny suddenly exclaims “What the heck?!”
We were being pulled over. Jonny apparently was swerving, probably because he was trying to take off his shoes while driving, but maybe because he was as tired as I was.
It sucks to be a grown-up sometimes. In college, I never had trouble staying up until midnight.

He’s the guy the Yanks traded for Bobby Abreu and Cory Lidle.
Probably better for him. He’d probably still be in Triple-A if he stayed with the Yankee system.

I couldn’t tell. Phillips is pretty quick, and I can certainly see the benefit of taking the risk. It’s not like you can count on the bats!

Ugh. Double-switch immediately after EdE’s error. It was convenient that EdE was also the last out of the previous inning, because he gets to be substituted with Castro. But since it’s a double-switch, it is effectively pinch-hitting with Castro.
I hate that.

EdE was 2-for-4 last night. He’s driven in a run today. And Castro just had an error himself. EdE isn’t actually doing so badly lately, but even if he were I wouldn’t object to responding to his performance if they seemed to be responding to anyone else’s.
The interaction with the players is Narron’s strong suit; strong enough to make up for his dearth of in-game management skill. If he can’t deal with the players in a way that’s constructive and fair, I don’t know why we’d continue to keep him around.

Knowing the Reds, they’ll say he’s day-to-day and refuse to free up a roster spot until he hasn’t played for three weeks.
