Episode 92: Pirates Preview with Pat Lackey
By Amanda
Tonight on the podcast we talk with Pat Lackey, writer of Where Have You Gone, Andy Van Slyke?, contributor at the Fanhouse, author of a chapter for the Hardball Times season preview, and all-around media darling. We talk about:
- The front-office changes the team has made this off-season and how long it will take for them to impact the team.
- The strengths and weaknesses of the Pirates going into 2008. Alas, mostly weaknesses.
- The likelihood of Jason Bay bouncing back and Adam LaRoche hitting over .100

You know things are bad when people want someone who has a lifetime OBP of .298 to lead off from other boards. If wondering who I am talking about check out the new sighs in Corey Patterson(The .298 OPB) and Jerry Hairston Jr.
Oh, Think of me the next few days. The radio station I work at is listener suported and our fundraiser starts Wednesday. We only have 4 days to raise the funds.

What happened to Corey Patterson, anyway? A few years ago, he was Jay Bruce – Baseball America’s top prospect, a can’t-miss future star.

Well, Krivsky thinks the problem was he was rushed. He made it to the big leagues in only two years. He should have spent more time in the minors.

That makes sense, coming from Krivsky. He’s a one-year-per-level kind of a guy.
