But I seemed to have the new guy attempting to stick me, because he stuck the needle in there and didn't get it in the vein. He wiggled it around a little, and apparently knicked it. The rise in my blood pressure from the pain this caused then "popped" the vessel (his word). They pulled the needle, leaving me with a lovely bruise and the inability (even now) to extend my arm all the way. But I also got a free strawberry shortcake (from my company, who was sponsoring the event) and a free 2-hours of paintball for up to 40 people, which was the gift from the bloodbank itself.
