Episode 100: The Sixth Inning Show

Indy Indians ScoreboardAfter much delay and many false starts, we finally recorded our 100th Red Hot Broadcast this evening from the left field seats in Victory Field in Indianapolis. Due to the Mother’s Day game being rained out yesterday, the Indians scheduled a double-header, with each game intended to be only seven innings long. Of course, the game was tied at the end of seven, sending the game into the regular number of innings and beyond. At the end of ten (a game and a half), the Indians lost 2-1.

This week on the podcast, we talk about batting out of order, the order of the NLC teams, and our wacky fun weekend of partying.

Episode 99: An Astrocast Joint

About three weeks ago, The Crack Technical Staff and I recorded a joint podcast with the guys from The Astrocast, live on location in Houston, Texas. With all that testosterone in the room, this one is longer than normal, coming in at a little over an hour of baseball hilarity.

Episode 98: Goodbye Krivsky

Tonight on the Red Hot Broadcast, the Crack Technical Staff and I record from our first-grade son’s baseball practice at a the diamond behind a local area elementary school. We committed to this multi-tasking because we knew that you’d want to hear, from our own mouths, our discussion of the Reds firing of general manager Wayne Krivsky.

We recorded the podcast before we had a chance to read the discussion here on RHM of the move, but we touch on many of the same points. In this version, though, you get the benefit of the charming sounds of little league baseball in the background.

Leave your thoughts about Wayne Krivsky’s firing on our comment line: 206-600-1734.

Episode 97: Spring Break Afterglow

We’re back from our spring break trip to the city of Houston. Can you believe it’s only been more than two weeks since our last podcast? This season already has the old familiar feeling.

This week on the podcast, we talk about how all the teams are doing so far. You definitely won’t want to miss our newest feature, the Inaccurate Reenactment, where Jonny does a horrible Dusty Baker impression, and I do an even worse Bronson Arroyo one. I like to think that we’re expressing an inner character rather than thinking that we’re just horrible voice actors.

Episode 96: Astros Preview with Lambo

Roy OswaltTonight on the podcast we talk with Lambo, host of The Astrocast, about how the Astros are looking going into the season. Among other things, we discuss:

  • The starting rotation. It isn’t the imposing group it once was, but Roy Oswalt still holds down the fort, and the rest of the division isn’t exactly kicking ass either.
  • Miguel Tejada: his bat, his defense, and the impact of his appearance in the Mitchell Re–hey look over there! Roger Clemens is poking someone with a stick!
  • The promise of Hunter Pence.
  • The impending visit of the Red Hot Broadcast crew to the fair city of Houston for spring break fun.
