    And Jocketty is standing there in a jacket with his collar turned up, drinking coffee.

    Oh, by the way…Jonny Gomes has been signed to a major league contract. I haven’t seen any numbers posted by the beat writers, but according to what ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick posted, it’s one year at $800,000 with a $1.75 million club option for 2011 and hundreds of thousands in potential performance bonuses both years.

    However, in the unlikely event that he’s outrighted, his minor league salary would reportedly be only $100,000. So Jonny – do the right thing…buy Uncle Walt a year’s supply of coconut milk!
