Extras

Well, it was a battle to the end to see which pitching staff could do a more effective job of giving up runs. The Reds won, when you look at it that way.

Plus, Chad Moeller threw a ball directly into the head of a batter when trying to return it to the mound, so that's a bonus. And an excellent reason why Javy doesn't get to start.

Tomorrow, the Reds go back home to host the Cardinals. As bad as the Reds are gonna get beat, I'm still looking forward to it.

Brantley was mentioning the movie Groundhog Day the other day. Its been Groundhog Day the entire year. The relievers simply cannot get it done. Its absurd. Ryan Franklin of all people is sporting a 1.44 ERA as a member of the Cardinals. It looks like he is the primary set-up man. We couldn’t get anythng out of this guy and LaRussa gets his hands on him and he turns to gold. That is why I must disagree with Marty Brennaman and pin the blame on Narron. He gets zilch out of guys that should be capable of better while LaRussa turns guys like Weaver and Franklin into studs. Guys that look good eventually turn to excrement the longer they are around. Santos was one of the few bright spots early this season and we gave up on him only to replace him with Ricky Stone. Ricky Stone? Is this team serious? Is Krivsky serious? Just what in the hell are these guys doing?
