Minor All-Stars, but All-Stars Nonetheless

While we'll all be very happy to see Griffey as the Reds' representative to the All-Star Game (who was actually voted there, no less!) it's also exciting to see that the Bats have three representatives. From John Fay's blog:

Triple-A Louisville infielders Joey Votto and Jeff Keppinger along with left-handed pitcher Phil Dumatrait were today named to the International League team for the 2007 Triple-A All-Star Game. The game will be played Wednesday, July 11 at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Go Bats! Look forward to seeing you soon!

I think we’ll be seeing Ryan Freel soon. He’s playing very well down in Louisville. He started in CF last night. He went 3 for 4 with a double, and is now hitting .375. He’s playing the outfield well and looks good on the basepaths. Sounds like he’s ready.

Victor Santos was DFA’d yesterday. Dunno if he’ll clear waivers and end up with the Bats.
