Welcome Back EdE; Get Well Soon Hamilton

C. Trent tells us that the Reds have DL'd Josh Hamilton (presumably with that persistent and mysterious tummy ache) and have recalled Edwin Encarnación from AAA Louisville.

EdE will even get the start tonight. Juan Castro gets a well-earned rest. Now if only we could get a similar rest for Ross.

On an unrelated note, check out the photo of Chico on Reds.com. Dude couldn't look more baked. Though I'm sure he's just naturally mellow.

    wasn’t able to post before….

4-4 in the seventh.. Bullpen has blown another lead.

Now 8-4 Nationals. Coutlangus gives up the Grand Slam.
Although I fault Narron for leaving him in too long, and Krivsky for trading Lopez to the Nats allowing felipe to hit said Grand Slam against the Reds.

Ross hit an upper deck monster home run. What is that now 5 home runs on the year? Not bad for a #8 hitter that splits time with other catchers. LaRue is barely over .100 with no home runs and has lost his job to John Buck. Yet the hatred for Ross and Arroyo is a consistent theme here at RHM. No wonder we have bad karma.

Redsfan68, I’m with you on giving the blame to Narron. Not just for leaving him in for too long but also for using him for the fourth time in five games. The kid works more than Freel.

smartelf, I know I’m not getting a karma lecture from the jackass who said “screw Majewski and his dead sister.”

And let’s not rehash obsession with thinking I hate David Ross. We already settled this crap. Your exact words:
Alright I concede the argument about you having it out for Ross, ok?
I thought you did post something when that trade was announced, I must have read someone else’s blog (Geki perhaps). I definitely thought that snap about Ross and the flowers was an indication you were angry with them both. Apparently I was wrong, and I apologize.
If Majewski comes back and wins a game or two and bolsters the bullpen I ‘ll be the firs to gladly eat crow. Meanwhile you hate on players who are producing i.e. Arroyo and Ross… and yes, you do have it out for Ross. i don’t know why I recanted that statement, because you def. wanted him traded instead of LaRue and you whine everytime he gets a start instead of valentin even though Vaentin can’t throw and probably can’t call a game. I like Valentin’s abt, I like the guy, but he is a back up catcher and probably should be used more at 1B… he is getting the exact number of starts he deserves at this juncture.

  6. smartelf says:

that should have read I like Valentin’s “bat”. I do like the guy, but he only hits well left handed so he is a platoon player.

Also, I’d truly love for Geki to come out of hiding…. that SOB was wrong about Aurilia last year and now has been proven utterly wrong about LaRue who he thought should be on the roster to the detriment of chemistry supposedly because he could hit. He’s the worst player in the major leagues right now. Moeller has double his average.

smartelf, you need to get off the weed (or perhaps on more of it) until you can understand that baseball players are more than statistics and performances; they are human beings. And even though you feel free to judge these people as if they have no souls, I prefer to consider their qualities as players separately from their qualities as people.

Majewski has done very little good for this team, and even if he won a game or two, that would not make him a good addition to the bullpen. However, the fact that he’s a human being makes you a jerk for saying that about his sister.

Bronson Arroyo is a good player (his last outing nothwithstanding) and the team is better off with him around. I’ve never once advocated his trade. I still don’t like him as a person because he treated me, personally, badly. I don’t go around saying that *you* shouldn’t like him–he didn’t mistreat you–but I’m entitled to say that I don’t like him as a person. I don’t understand why you can’t get over that.

David Ross is an adequate player (his recent homerun and .210 avg notwitsthanding) and the team could have gotten something great for him if they’d traded him at the right time. Saying his trade value was high last year is not the same as having it in for him.

smartelf is a great commenter, providing lots of content and keeping conversations going. That stuff is the lifeblood of the site. As a person, I think he’s got some stuff to learn.

LaRue is a big fan of George Bush. Nuff said. he’s a John Deere Jerk who could care less about real people like you and me. He is the one that is out of touch with reality. Good riddance to him and he deserved exactly what he got: banishment to Kansaas City where his career will disappear into quiet mediocrity. As for Majewski I know nothing about him, but the fact his sister is tooling around on an ATV leads me to believe they are probably too rich for their own good also. And Mercker with his Cheney/Bush hat. Sorry to mix politics with baseball, but that’s what these guys did last year and I can’t forgive them for it.

can’t we just all get along ???
