Mercker on DL; Shack to Return

Just heard Marty say that Kent Mercker has been placed on the DL retroactive to yesterday with inflammation in his shoulder. The Reds are expected to recall Brian Shackelford tomorrow.
I feel like saying something about a “Shack Attack” about now, but I think I'll keep it to myself.
Love Shack is awesome and deserves to be with the team even when Mercker gets back.
I just wish he could start. The guy on the pitching staff who needs to go the most is Mays.
Mays sucks so much that I can’t even come up with a nickname for him.
Maybe that’s what he’s going for. Maybe in those 16 days he had off, he was actually practicing in the bullpen to keep his suckage fresh.
And if so, kudos to him. He definitely had his suckage tonight.
How about Joe “Giant Sucking Sound” Mays?
