Oh, cool, look who’s among the spring training invitees! That’s right, it’s none other than RHM’s personal favorite – outfielder DeWayne Wise.

2. BubbaFan says:

I thought Heartthrob was her favorite. 🙂

I was looking over yesterday’s press release (PDF). It says something about satellite video of spring training. What’s that? Will we be able to watch it on the web or something?

The press release also has the winterball stats for all the Reds players who participated. Norris Hopper, Ray Olmedo, and A-Gon did pretty well.

I met DeWayne Wise in spring training last year and liked him just fine. At the same time, the rest of Redsland was taking it upon themselves to bitch and moan about him for some reason I’ve never quite worked out.

So, I think it’s not that I love Wise so much as the net difference between how much I liked him and how much everyone else didn’t was quite striking.

The Heartthrob is a cutie-pie and a heck of a defender, but my heart really belongs to little Ray Ray.

4. BubbaFan says:

Why is he called “little Ray Ray”?

And your husband must be very understanding. I got an e-mail via my blog tonight. Among other things, it commented that if you share an account with your husband, it’s not a good idea to use “BubbaLover” for a password. Unless his name is Bubba, of course. 😀

5. Red Hot Mama says:

Well, his name is “Ray” so that’s where that part comes from. The “Little” is probably because he’s about 18 inches tall.

Yes, the CTS is very indulgent of me. He puts up with my baseball crushes, dedicates his at home time to the improvement of my blog and podcast, and never complains that I refer to him as “staff.” He also does the laundry.

In all ways, the perfect husband.

BubbaFan – regarding the satellite stuff…
We’ll be sending up to the news satellites stories that we shoot & edit from Spring Training (and possibly video podcasting or something as well) so markets like Columbus, Indiana, Kentucky & West Virginia can carry Reds stories.
We’ll have to do a feature on Bubba. 🙂

7. BubbaFan says:

Eep. I am about halfway between Yankeeland and Red Sox Nation. Definitely outside the Reds market. I guess I have to hope MLB.TV comes through.

8. smartelf says:

RHM, have you read a lot of Douglas Adams, or perhaps Terry Pratchett? Your writing style is very similiar to those hilarious British gents.

9. Red Hot Mama says:

Why thank you, smartelf

I’m not familiar with Terry Pratchett, but I’ll have to check him out now. I’ve read tons by Douglas Adams. I think it’s difficult to say whether my writing more an excuse for me to steal from him or from Dave Barry.

10. smartelf says:

Hmmm… well now I should check out Dave Barry since I am not familiar with him.
