brennaman & brantley

Don't get me wrong i like chris welsh & george grande but thom brennaman & jeff brantley sounded like they had been working together for as long welsh & grande i don't think i've ever heard anybody do a better job of breaking down pitching like brantley did and thom brennaman is worth every cent the reds pay him ( unlike eric milton)

I agree with the Eric Milton part. 😀

Brantley doesn’t seem to be behooven to making sense, though his commentary certainly gives you something to think about.

Thom’s all right, but to me he sounds like he’s trying too hard–like a game show host or something.

Brantley is funny as hell… try listening to his country logic after a few tokes on the peace pipe and you won’t be able to stop laughing… somtimes he says something obvious, but he phrases it in ways I would never even think of, so yea I enjoy listening to them. George Grande is exactly the kind of announcer a 5th place team deserves, the way he praises the Cardinals and the opposition in general is utterly pathetic but if we are getting our butts kicked I suppose we deserve to hear about everyone else.

He’s definitely better on the t.v. than on the radio, since you can at least see what likely prompted what he’s saying. On the radio it’s like listening to a random comment generator.

    I think we’re going to need a Brantley-nator 2000.

I like Thom with Marty, but so far I don’t care for him too much any other times. He’s probably better than George, but George’s Cardinal and Edmonds loving, not to mention his other vocal cliches, are part of what makes me enjoy the games he calls.

I’d rather have Chris Welsh than Jeff Brantley any day of the week, though. I think Chris is my favorite baseball color commentator. Although he does go on about “rally-killers” too much.

Yea Chris is real good, I have to give him props.
