Calvin Medlock now pitching for the Redlegs.
Who the heck is this guy?

  2. smartelf says:

LOL, my kid was checking out the smiley’s the other day too. He likes this one. 😎

  3. smartelf says:

Bunt single. That play has like a 90% success rate in the pre-season doesn’t it?

  4. Red Hot Mama says:

I think we’re conspicuously missing the devil horns one. And I don’t think the blushing one looks like a blush.

I’ve never heard of Calvin Medlock either.

  5. Red Hot Mama says:

    Aha, AA pitcher.

  6. smartelf says:

1st and 2nd nobody out… this could be it for the Reds if they don’t escape this jam.

  7. smartelf says:

    Fly out to RF.

  8. smartelf says:

Base on balls. Bases loaded. Get the feeling Narron wants to get the first loss out of the way? Dock Pole coming in for a conference.

  9. Red Hot Mama says:

The Medlock/Moeller conversation on the mound. That’s not something you see every day.

  10. smartelf says:

OK, the marketing dept. really did go with my Bronson Arroyo long locks of hair idea.. remember when I recommended that gimmick over at Big Red Mechanic? Appaerntly they are giving away a cap with long hair attached 😉

  11. smartelf says:

    2 runs come in..boy, I didn’t see that comin’ :O

  12. Zeldink says:

Perhaps you should get on the Crack Technical Staff to fix the emoticons. That’s what he’s there for, right?
    >:-)

  13. Red Hot Mama says:

Ugh! Two more Tiger runs, demmit.

  14. smartelf says:

You got to be careful with your good ideas… they’ll pick your pocket clean!

  15. Red Hot Mama says:

A hat with Arroyo hair attached? As long as it’s not really his hair…

  16. smartelf says:

9-4 heading to the bottom of the 8th. 😥

  17. Red Hot Mama says:

The CTS probably would find me some more emoticons. He’s a sweetie like that. :satisfied:

But he’s been as busy with our familial illnesses and trips to the doctor as I have. Plus, I’ve already got him working on a software upgrade.

  18. smartelf says:

Couldn’t they even give me a free ticket for that idea? True, I said a wig which isn’t exactly the same thing…but it was still my concept, damnit! I was telling my friend in SoCal last spring he should set up a wig stand outside Angels stadium and sell Weaver Bros. Hair-dos. That’s how I hatched that particular idea.

  19. Red Hot Mama says:

OK, Wise leads off the bottom of the 8th with a single. Surely the Tigers are as low on their pitching totem pole as we are. Maybe there’s hope.

    Oh, DP. Nevermind.

  20. smartelf says:

Well that was a pathetic inning for the Reds.

  21. smartelf says:

Pretty forgettable game. I guess the Dunn HR and hamlton’s 3B are the only things worth mentioning in the wrap up. Bray now pitching. Last inning would have been better.

  22. Red Hot Mama says:

I’m with ya, man. We’re working on plans for Blogger Day. I don’t expect there will be free tickets involved, but there might be something cool. Perhaps you can get in on that for some wig-idea compensation. 😀

  23. smartelf says:

Bray strikes out Shelton with a change up.

  24. Red Hot Mama says:

It does seem weird to wait so long to bring in Bray.

  25. Red Hot Mama says:

8 1/2 innings in and the Reds trail 9-4. All they have to do in this last inning is all of the scoring they’ve done so far, plus one. No prob. 😎

  26. smartelf says:

Well its a meaningless game. Its fun to be undefeated, but I don’t think Jerry really cares about winning or losing at this juncture.

  27. Red Hot Mama says:

As well he shouldn’t, but yeah, it *is* fun to win while practicing.

Or rather, it *was* fun. 🙁

  28. Zeldink says:

Maybe the team will come back as I’m driving home.

    You can do it! 😉

  29. smartelf says:

    Angry?
    Not sure about that emoticon…

  30. smartelf says:

Bellhorn Ks. Moeller our last hope…LOL. Hopefully we never have to say that again.

  31. Red Hot Mama says:

I always thought Angry looks more like praying.

“Please, let this last batter score 5 runs. “

  32. smartelf says:

BASE HIT, past the diving third baseman. Crosby now up with two runners on.

  33. smartelf says:

Look at C. Trent’s lineup: Hateberg lol.

BUBBA hits a home run! a 3 run BOMB!

  34. Red Hot Mama says:

    BUBBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😉 😉 😉 😉

  35. smartelf says:

Flyball caught in left center.. oh well. Nice try, boys.

  36. smartelf says:

Bubba looks like he belongs on the roster. Denorfia looks like he needs to start at AAA.

  37. smartelf says:

Have a good one, RHM. Hope you feel better soon.

  38. Red Hot Mama says:

I think I agree. Bubba’s looking really good.

Well, that was a much more exciting ending than I expected. I’m all tired out now. Better go take a nap. :doze:

    Thanks for coming by!

  39. BubbaFan says:

I was chained to my desk today. I should be around tomorrow, though. I’m taking a day off.

They shoulda put Bubba in earlier. Then they’d still be undefeated. 😉

I was hoping he’d get a chance at Zumaya. Last March, the Yanks came from behind to win a late spring training game, on Bubba’s two-run homer off Zumaya. The Tiggers announcers were so busy drooling over what a stud Zumaya was, that they barely mentioned who was batting or what was going on. Until the ball left the ballpark, and they kind of had to talk about it. 😀

  40. smartelf says:

Well no doubt, Hamilton stole the headlines of top prospects playing the outfield… but I think the Reds have to be pleased with what they’ve seen of Bubba so far. You have to remember Griffey is an injury waiting to happen, and Freel is probably more useful in the infield than the outfield, though he did throw out a runner today and has terrific range out there…. but anyhow, my point is I think Bubba should make this roster based on what we have seen thus far. Denorfia still has options and can begin down in Louisville. You also have to remember that kriv-dawg loves bolstering his own resume, and Bubba is his guy, not Denorfia… I like Bubba’s chances.
