The Reds take on the Twins at Fort Myers today at 1:05 p.m. C. Trent has the line-ups:

Josh Hamilton RF
Javier Valentín C
Alex Gonzalez SS
Juan Castro 2B
Chris Denorfia LF

I didn't realize that the Ponson was pitching in Minnesota. Perhaps they'd be interested in Paul Wilson.

    Hey, the site’s back up!

Maybe it’ll coincide with the Reds coming back from the 3 runs that Milton and Freel have spotted the Twins.

  2. Zeldink says:

All right. Bases loaded for Hamilton. Let’s see what he can do against Phat Sidney.

  3. Zeldink says:

Hamilton breaks his bat on a grounder to first. He’s out easily, but a run scores!

    (I would have preferred a walk.) 😀

And Javy knocks in 2 to tie the game.

In the top of the 3rd with the Reds still batting, it’s tied 3-3.

  4. Zeldink says:

So the Reds tie it up in the top of the third only to have Milton respond by allowing three straight hits in the bottom of the third. Man, he has not looked fantastic this spring. Not even the mediocre he was last year.

    It’s now 4-3 Twins.

We’re going to have to change the slogan:

[em]Celebrating Eric Milton’s Triumphant Return to Mediocrity Followed by his Disheartening Decent Back Into Crapitude[/em]

  6. Zeldink says:

After three innings, the Reds are losing 5 – 3.

Too bad Milton won’t be batting to help overcome his own pitching.

  7. Red Hot Mama says:

You know, that’s true. It really is too bad. Milton may be a better hitter than Moeller.

  8. Zeldink says:

    :ha:

  9. KC2HMZ says:

It sounds like porn, but it’s Milton’s earned run average.

  10. Red Hot Mama says:

    That *is* obscene…

  11. KC2HMZ says:

    Precisely. 🙂

  12. Zeldink says:

My comment was lost when the site went down again, but I heard Brantley say Milton had allowed more than 20 hits in 12 innings this spring.

That competition for the 5th starter has been overstated. Milton’s got it all sewn up.

  13. Zeldink says:

And that’s a ball game. The Reds lose to the Twins 5 – 3.

  14. BubbaFan says:

Sir Sidney is much slimmer than he was last season. Last year, he kept getting hit by comebackers, and I think it was because he had his own gravitational field.

Not only did the Twinkies grab him, they are leaning toward making him their 5th starter…

BTW, how come no Ryan Freel on the new poll? Isn’t he the frontrunner?

  15. KC2HMZ says:

That’s what it’s saying on the official site right now, Freel has the regular starting center field job. I posted to another thread earlier where Mark Sheldon quoted Narron to the effect that Freel and Hailton are two guys they’re “comfortable playing there” which would seem to add credence to that conclusion as well.

Now let’s hope Ryan can stay on the field.

  16. Zeldink says:

Freel’s the frontrunner for starting in center field on opening day. I doubt he’d be playing right field, too.

  17. BubbaFan says:

    Duh. I misread the poll.
